Never let it be said that The Rock doesn't give good wood (fnar, fnar). We're referring, of course, to his latest character's penchant for hitting bad guys with a huge piece of cedar - and boy, does he do it well. Walking Tall showcases the big man as a soldier who returns home traumatised to find his small town's streets rife with drug-dealing smarms and corrupt law enforcers. Understandably miffed, he decides to run for sheriff and smash away the sex, substance abuse and gambling with the help of Johnny Knoxville's amiable sidekick and said hunk of wood. As violent as it is daft, this is a welcome throwback to Arnie-style '80s actioners.
