Michael Madsen describes this three-hour sprawler as ""too long and a tremendous waste of time"". Well, he did miss out on Pulp Fiction to make Lawrence Kasdan's so-traditional-it-hurts Western...
The life of legendary gunslinger Earp (Kevin Costner) is rendered here in agonising detail, from boyhood to his days as a sharp-shooting lawman. It looks wonderful and Dennis Quaid adds colour as a voluble, TB-riddled Doc Holliday, but the plodding pace and Costner's po-faced, one-note turn are enough to make even the most enthusiastic cowpoke saddle-sore.
DVD Extras:
Newly reissued in single-disc format, the touted additional doc is just 14 minutes of outtake interviews that didn't make it into the previously released Making Of, also including here along with a slew of deleted scenes and a trailer.
