Film description

In a Nutshell:  A good cop unwittingly becomes a tool for corporate evil.

Tagline:  Part man, part machine. All cop. The future of law enforcement.

ED-209: (Menacingly) “Please put down your weapon. You have 20 seconds to comply.”
Dick Jones: “I think you better do as he says, Mr Kinney.”
Clarence: “Can you fly, Bobby?”

Reporter: “Robo, excuse me, Robo. Any special message for the kids watching at home?"
RoboCop: “Stay out of trouble.”

Officer Alex J. Murphy is transferred to the front line of the war against crime at Metro West in futuristic Detroit where cops are killed daily in the line of duty.

The Police are owned by OCP, a private corporation, and those on the beat are threatening to strike. Crime lord Clarence Boddicker and his gang are top of the heap of slimey bad guys dominating the streets through drugs, armed robbery and offing cops for fun.

When new law enforcement bot ED-209 produces a spectacular fail; executive young gun, Bob Morton, tries to seize the reigns of power from Dick Jones, shark-like Vice Prez of OCP.

Murder, mayhem and mechanical genius follow and RoboCop is born, combining a lifetime of law enforcement experience with state of the art technology. The film climaxes with a gladiatorial battle to the death.
