Rush tells the story of the racetrack rivalry between F1 champs Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl) and James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth).
Yep, the man sometimes known as Thor is trading his Asgardian armour for a fitted red race suit to play British racing legend Hunt. Directed by Ron Howard and written by Peter Morgan (The Queen, Frost/Nixon), Rush will focus on distinctly different men - playboy Hunt and strategist Lauda - and their approach to driving and living.
Also on board are Olivia Wilde, The Tudors’ Natalie Dormer, and Me And Orson Welles’s Christian McKay.
Set in 1976, the film’ll hopefully ignite the interest of those taken by sensational documentary Senna.
So far details on the film have been on the sparse side, although a selection of official images have been revealed.
The film opens in 2013, probably before we see Hemsworth reprise his signature superhero role in Thor: The Dark World.
