Shadow Dancer

Shadow Dancer

Shadow Dancer review

Film description

Shadow Dancer is a 1990s set thriller, featuring Andrea Riseborough, Gillian Anderson and Clive Owen and directed by Man On Wire's James Marsh

During an aborted bomb attempt in London, Collette (Never Let Me Go's Riseborough) falls into the hands of an MI5 officer, (Children Of Men's Clive Owen) Mac, who offers her a deal: turn informant or go to prison.

Fearing for her son's welfare, she returns to Belfast where betraying family and beliefs she becomes a reluctant mole for British intelligence. As suspicion of Collette mounts and Mac takes increasing risks to protect her, both feel the net closing in.

Boasting strong reviews following its Sundance and Belfast screenings - and an enviably high rating on Rotten Tomatoes - Shadow Dancer looks set to be a moving, slow-burning thriller.
