Steve Coogan returns to his most famous creation as Norwich's number one DJ takes to the silver screen in The Alan Partridge Movie.

The script has already been written, by Steve Coogan, Armando Iannucci (In The Loop), Peter Baynham, and Neil and Rob Gibbons, with Coogan set to reprise his performance as Alan Partridge, the brightest star in the Radio Norwich galaxy.

Where exactly the plot will take Alan remains to be seen, but with Iannucci and Coogan famously resistant to transporting the character out of his natural habitat (radio studios, service stations etc.), we'd be surprised to see it set anywhere outside of the UK.

The Alan Partridge Movie will open in the UK on 16 August 2013.
