Carol Morley (sister of music critic Paul) reclaims the mid-'80s years she spent stumbling through an alcoholic fug by interviewing friends and associates from the time. Thankfully, the resulting film is about far more than just her. The Alcohol Years serves as a wonderfully lucid document of both Hacienda-era Manchester and Thatcher's Britain.
