You just know from the predictable trailer content it's going to be fake macho cliched c**p! He's tough?...from the Hood.?..gotta best mate who betrays him to the mob?...he wants to see his kids?..but has meaningless sex with a bit of old strumpet on the ringside?...he loses his will and temper in the changing rooms?....he loses, wins, and eventually succeeds and gets his ghetto kids back? Don't bother!

@ LIngdada I suppose your s****y Rom-Coms and Twilight are much better then? FYI this is a true story. And This is not some macho film were people flex their muscles and do poses, its a wonderful film that has themes about family, loyalty, and so forth. This is a c**p trailer which does not do the movie justice at all, it has great performances from everyone involved, and its predictable as hell, but who cares? "Gotta best mate that betrays him to the mob" The mob has nothing to do with this whatsoever" "Has meaningless sex with a bit of old strumpet" Umm no that's his future wife (I repeat, true story), and if you're gonna go all feminist on us, there are truly great female characters in this film. If its such a bad film, I wonder why it has a 90% on RottenTomatoes, and 8.3 on Imdb, 6 Golden Globe nominations (those are s**t, but still), Including Best Picture, Actor, Director, Supporting Actor and Actress, and is an Oscar front-runner like The Social Network and The King's Speech?

Best film i have seen in ages.... Yes it's a tad predictable but aren't most films... this is all about the performances.... Wahlberg is amazing in it and you can see how much the whole thing means to him... and the two female leads are powerful, emotional and extremely realistic but Bale is absolutely unbelievable in it.... he will win everything and rightly so.... if you get a chance to see the real Dicky Eklund (real-life footage at the end of movie)... you will see how Bale get everything spot on.... truly a top film. PS... What a sad pathetic catty comment by Lingdada.... shows how much you actually know...

Just watched this film at a free screening in Derby - it was brilliant from beginning to end. Christian Bale deserves the Best Supporting Actor Oscar due to the fact that he portrayed Dicky in such a realistic way. Amy Adams also deserves the oscar for supporting actress as she was spot on throughout this film. Mark Wahlberg will probably get nominated, but there are other actors who may beet him. Examples include: James Franco (127 Hours), Colin Firth (The King's Speech), Leonardo DiCaprio (Inception), Jeff Bridges (Tron Legacy or True Grit) All in all, this was an excellent movie, a must see!!! 5 stars all the way

Im a girl, I hated rocky, I loved this film !! It was totally brilliant. His family OMG trailer trash in its finest glory. Its great to see film in all its ugly frankness, the actors were realistic , not a hint of fakeness or glamour. I am going again to see it to anaylise his muscles. comon Mickey !!!!
