Blade Runner scripter Hampton Fancher’s sole directorial effort is AN Other ’90s indie with a classier cast than its sluggish script (also by Fancher) deserves. Owen Wilson plays a drifter-cum-serial killer who poisons his prey, starting with unconvincing junkie Sheryl Crow. Between knocking off his victims, Wilson romances Janeane Garofalo and goads imaginary detectives in his head (Dennis Haysbert and Dwight Yoakam). The deaths are quick and painless – if only the film was, too. .
