A big hit at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, The Queen Of Versailles is a laugh-out-loud documentary that follows the lives of a billionaire couple.
Jackie and David Siegel are attempting to build their very own Versailles-style mansion, with documentary filmmaker Lauren Greenfield (Thin) charting their progress.
However, the Siegels' dream home is put under threat during the economic crisis, and when the real estate bubble pops they find themselves in a very difficult situation.
The Siegels are unflinchingly honest in Greenfield's film, and make for fascinating characters in a real-life drama that runs the gamut of emotions.
We caught Queen Of Versailles at Sundance in January 2012 (you can read our thoughts here), where the film was one of the first at the festival to have its distribution rights snapped up, also nabbing the Directing Award for Greenfield.
The Queen Of Versailles
opens in cinemas on 7 September 2012.
