The World's End review

Film description

Director Edgar Wright and stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost reunite once more for The World's End, the concluding installment in the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy (which began with Shaun Of The Dead, and followed up with Hot Fuzz).

The plot sees Gary King (Pegg) attempt to corral his old mates into recreating an epic pub crawl of their youth that they never quite finished. Along the way, there’s a potentially apocalyptic turn of events...

For anyone not wanting to be spoiled by the film’s big reveal, stop reading now, as it appears that in the time since the lads have been away, their small town has been taken over by robot imposters. Cue the action…

The Comic-Con poster hinted at plot points via the medium of pub names, while other posters toasted the apocalypse.

The first trailer played it coy with plot points, while a later version went into a little more detail. It seems safe to say that saving the world will have to wait until everyone has finished their pints.

The World’s End opens in the UK on 19 July 2013, before hitting the US on 23 August 2013.
