WORK EXPERIENCE ON TOTAL FILM
About the work experience placement:
Total Film is offering you the opportunity to gain valuable experience working with the magazine team for a period of two to four weeks.
Just as no two weeks on a magazine are ever the same, each placement will be different and it is your responsibility to make the most of the experience, however the list below provides an overview of the types of things you will get the chance to do:
- Transcribing interviews
- Research for forthcoming features/news within both the magazine/online
- Writing the quiz questions for forthcoming issues
- Helping out with any office admin
- Carrying out any appropriate editorial tasks as necessary, as advised by one of the team
- Go to a preview screening
- Write a sample review in the style of the mag and receive feedback
Your work experience placement is also an excellent opportunity for you to use your initiative, ask questions and seek advice with regards getting into the industry. Make the most of it!
About you:
To be successful you must be:
- Either a graduate or a final year university student with a desire to get into journalism/magazines/media with a knowledge of film or popular culture
- A self starter who can show initiative, help out where appropriate and take a real interest in how the magazine is put together
- 100 per cent committed to making the most of your placement
