Carefully doctoring footage from 1920s and '30s newsreels, Woody Allen's delightful mockumentary tells the unusual story of "human chameleon" Leonard Zelig (Allen himself). Here is a man who can transform himself to blend in with anyone and everyone he meets - - even changing colour if need be. Watch this now and you'll realise just how much it "inspired" Oscar-nabber Forrest Gump, as Zelig interfaces with various famous figures from the inter-war period - - only with far more wit and wisdom.
